Mods are another form of fangames. Modded games typically:
- change configuration options
- change graphics
- change sounds
- change maps/models
- add weapons
Modding tends to use features of customisation availabe within the original game. This could be folders for individual mods, a mod selector and individual configuration files.
Modding is different to patching since it doesn't change the original game code and can easily be reverted.
